Daysleeper is an acoustic duo comprised of longtime friends and music collaborators, Ken Bewick and Scott Beesley. In addition to their solo work, Ken and Scott have been in several bands together, and they have worked in tandem on numerous albums and projects.
Hailing from Santa Cruz, CA, Daysleeper combines hundreds of original tunes with unique, acoustic versions of classics from the pop, rock, and Americana lexicons. Their performances are humorous, off-the-cuff, and utterly engaging, while creating an atmosphere in which the duo’s love of making music is both infectious and undeniable.
Though Ken and Scott have collaborated on many projects since 1992, Daysleeper was started in 2023. Thus, it is a new and exciting project for the pair, and one that they are very anxious to share with fans. Ken Bewick
Ken is a singer and guitarist hailing from Santa Cruz, California. He has been writing and performing , both solo and in groups since he was in his early teens, writing hundreds of songs along the way. His lyrics reflect his slightly skewed sense of humor, as well as poignant observations of characters, the world around him, travels, and a dose of the California landscapes that he calls home.
He also plays in Seattle-based band Bottle Of Sound, with whom he's recorded five albums of his original songs, the most recent titled "The Moon". His performances have brought him to stages in festivals, clubs, and concert halls on the west and east coasts.
For the past 10 years, he's been a member of Boston's Classical Tangent, and Frame, with his sister Bonnie Bewick on violin. They've recorded two albums together, and have performed at Tanglewood, Symphony hall in Boston, and up and down the New England coast.
He sings and plays with his daughter, violinist Elena Bewick when she's in town, as well.
Ken and his Daysleeper cohort, Scott Beesley, have been writing and performing together for nearly 30 years.
SCOTT BEESLEY
Scott is a multi-instrumentalist (i.e. Guitar, Vocals, Mandolin, Keyboards, Chapman Stick), songwriter, producer, and engineer, with decades of experience, both in the studio, and in live performance. He has keen interest in the American musical lexicon, particularly popular music dating back to the early 19th century. In addition to the many bands/projects with which Scott is currently involved, he is a musician for hire, joining other bands playing in throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. He has also composed music for animation, voiceover projects, and the development of music for commercial media.
